Here is some information
When you first visit the acupuncturist, don’t expect to see him or her appear with a smile on their face…
Acupuncture is a highly developed and methodical discipline, based on thousands of years of practice.
First, the therapist assesses the person’s health and detects energy imbalances. This is done through observation, palpation and detailed questionnaires.
They may even ask you about your favourite climates or flavours – additional clues to corroborate their assessment. He or she will take your medical history and characteristics (height, weight, skin tone, breathing patterns, voice sounds, movements, emotional state, etc.).
He examines the pulse and the tongue, listens to the sounds of the stomach, notes the body odours and auscultates the painful places associated with the meridians.
Here are some indications of what acupuncture can treat.
Note: There is a gap between what acupuncture claims to treat, particularly in China or Japan, and what has been evaluated so far in scientific studies that meet Western standards.
