Back pain

Do you suffer from back discomfort?

Low back pain or sciatica, i.e. inflammation of the lumbar region or back pain caused by a herniated disc is frequently encountered.

"The Physio Guindon clinic offers you several effective approaches!

Here are some of the reasons for back pain.

  • The pain appears following a fall, a sudden movement or a static position causing a joint lock.
  • A muscle spasm causing a lack of mobility in the spine or pelvis.
  • A lack of mobility of an organ in the abdominal cavity such as the intestine or kidney causes muscle tension or vascular congestion.

In women, back pain during pregnancy is caused by a lack of spinal or visceral mobility brought on by the change in posture and/or the baby. After childbirth, a new mother who has had an epidural or episiotomy may experience back pain caused by these small scars.

Finally, back discomfort can result from an adherent scar causing tension in the underlying muscles. The role of the therapist is to restore the mobility of the spine, pelvis, organs and nervous system to relieve back pain.

The American College of Physicians recommends tai chi and mindfulness meditation to reduce back pain; as well as massage therapy acupuncture, spinal manipulation, yoga, exercise and psychological therapies.
