- We will have sinusitis when there is an imbalance in the energy of the lung (the nose being the opening to the lung) or an imbalance in the energy of the liver (gallbladder). We all know that our conventional medicine considers sinusitis as an inflammation of the sinuses due to a strong attack of a virus and/or bacteria that has managed to outwit our immune system. However, acupuncture understands that we must find the source of the imbalance in the body that allowed the aggressor to enter in the first place.
- It is therefore necessary to tonify the weak or scattered energy of the lung, thus calming the vigor of the liver organ (gallbladder) to rebalance the body so that the sinuses can recover.
- It should be noted that when it is an acute case or a chronic case of sinusitis, the treatments are similar. It is the number of treatments required for chronic cases that is higher, from one to three additional treatments depending on the severity of the situation.
