Here are a few suggestions to help you fall asleep more easily:

  • Avoid using a computer after it gets dark
  • Use a pair of blue light blocking glasses
  • Install software that reduces blue light production


Did you know that exposure to light in the evening or at night, especially the blue light created by cell phones, tablets and computers can disrupt your body clock. Indeed, the blue light produced by these devices can have an effect on your sleep by inhibiting the production of melatonin, a hormone produced by the epiphysis, which regulates your sleep. This hormone is secreted when darkness sets in, signaling your body to relax for sleep. When you work in front of a computer at night, your body never receives this signal and this may be the reason why you have difficulty falling asleep at night.
