Treatment with acupuncture

As an acupuncturist for more than twenty years, I am always surprised and delighted to see the effects that the insertion of fine needles (uni service) or the use of a soft laser beam can produce.

A fifty year old woman comes to see me, she has vertigo of unknown origin. She has undergone all kinds of tests in traditional medicine with no results. Her doctor suggested that she try acupuncture. During our first meeting, we locate the energetic imbalance, it is in excess at the level of the liver organ.

In traditional Chinese medicine, we consider dizziness to have several sources such as: an energy vacuum in the kidneys, or in the spleen-stomach component. It is not the different symptoms described by the patient that we can establish the right energy diagnosis. Notice that this insistence on using the word energetic comes from the very essence of acupuncture. We work with specific points on the meridians (pathways) where the energy circulates so that it reaches each of the body’s organs to nourish them.

There may be a lack of energy (emptiness) or an overflow (excess).

In the end, the woman chose a laser treatment because she didn’t like the idea of needles. We do five treatments that bring an 80% decrease in vertigo. Three more and his problem is history, no more vertigo!
