Menstrual pain

As anacupuncturist for more than twenty years, I am always impressed by the results obtained with small needles (uni service) or with the use of a soft laser beam.

Ha! These notorious menstrual pains that make life impossible and debilitating for our young teenage girls and sometimes well into adulthood. These pains are responsible for the mood swings and with good reason. They are a source of absence from school or work.

As a general rule, we need to count on about three cycles, one treatment per week, to rebalance the energy associated with a slight hormonal imbalance. A complete evaluation is still needed to determine the exact origin of this disorder. In Chinese medicine, we have to see if the imbalance comes from a stagnation of the liver energy, an internal cold that creates the pain, a blood vacuum (specific term in acupuncture) or a kidney energy vacuum.

For my daughter, it was a little shorter, considering that we treated her from the first menstruation. In the years that followed, she had to receive about one treatment every six months, then one a year. We have saved him a lot of pain. That’s why we encourage parents and teenagers to take action as soon as they start menstruating.

I regularly see women who have suffered all their lives and who greatly appreciate the relief that acupuncture brings them. Had they known, they tell me, they would have come at the beginning. By restoring the energetic imbalance or slight hormonal imbalance as soon as possible, problems with the uterus, ovaries or hormones as a whole can be minimized.

For children or teenagers who do not like needles, we use a laser beam that has the same impact as needles.
