The role of massage in reducing stress

Stress causes a lot of damage to the body, damage that we neglect to take care of. Stress causes the body to contract constantly, to make more abrupt movements. The muscle is made up of several fibers where blood, nutrients, oxygen and also toxins circulate and are eliminated. The blood is, if you will, the train, and the muscles are its rails to travel through the body. Stress causes vasoconstriction of the blood vessels (a contraction of the smooth muscles that make up our veins), decreasing the flow of oxygen, nutrients and toxins through our veins, which causes soreness.

It is therefore normal to notice a loss of memory in times of stress due to the oxygen that circulates more difficult, as well as fatigue due to the poor circulation in the body, and a less good exchange of everything we need to be in good shape.

Massage has a great role to play in reducing stress, not only because it is relaxing, as it is often presented as a moment of relaxation, but also by detoxifying the muscle. The massage maneuvers are designed to use the circulatory system and the main veins of the body to drain the body of toxins, increase the flow of oxygen to the brain, increase the rate at which nutrients are absorbed by the body. In addition to slowing down the body for a moment and giving it a moment of relaxation, there is a very important work that is done in the body. Reducing stress increases oxygen intake and memory, which in turn regenerates the body’s energy. In fact, a one-hour massage gives the body the equivalent of 1.5 hours of sleep in terms of recovery.

Beyond the fact that massage reduces stress, it allows us to be in touch with our body. We are often not very attentive to the pains that our body can have, to the tensions that it feels, since our body constantly compensates so that we can continue our activities. During a massage, we often find that we have tensions and stiffness that we were not aware of.
